Divanga’s story began in 1998, when Lucie and her family arrived from France to Taganga to manage a dive center called Diva: Diving Adventure. Alongside the diving operation, they created Diva Guest House for travelers and divers — in the same place where Divanga stands today.
After returning to France during a difficult period for tourism in Colombia, Lucie studied an MBA with a focus on sustainable development. In 2005, she returned to Taganga, determined to start again.
The name DIVANGA was born from DIVA + TAGANGA.
Divanga is born
On April 1, 2006, Divanga Hostel officially opened its doors.
A year later, Divanga became the first hostel in Taganga with a swimming pool. What began as a small guest house continued to grow, while keeping the relaxed and personal atmosphere that had been part of the project from the beginning.
Growing with Taganga
Between 2014 and 2019, the property was gradually renovated and expanded to 13 rooms with capacity for around 40 guests.
Then came 2020. Divanga closed for six months during the Covid pandemic. Lucie and her daughter Lola stayed at the hostel, maintaining the property and preparing it for the day travelers could return.
Back to our diving roots
Diving had been part of the story from the very beginning, and in the following years it became an essential part of Divanga again through Diving Taganga.
In 2024–2025, the diving operation developed into a PADI Dive Resort, bringing accommodation, restaurant & bar and professional diving together in one place.
20 years of Divanga
In 2026, Divanga celebrates its 20th anniversary.
